Censorship of Occupy Wall Street



It’s clear that corporate-controlled media sources had been doing everything in their power to not cover OWS. But more disturbingly, in cyberspace, there has also been censorship. Many suspect that Twitter blocked it from ‘trending’ in the US. More disturbingly, for a while, Yahoo mail’s spam and malware filters blocked all emails containing the phrase or URLs pointing to sites with the phrase. How can we ensure our freedom of speech isn’t filtered across cyberspace? What can we do to prevent the next politically sensitive topic from reaching this level of censorship? Or are we destined to become like China?
