Are Republicans out of touch with the pulse of the nation?
Is the author of this article right in saying concerning the debt ceiling debate that "Republicans are out of touch with the pulse of the nation, which wants a fair and balanced deficit deal."? Do you agree, as the author argues, that these actions will convince more voters to swing to Democratic in the next cycle of elections?

On the new rules governing excessive student debt
This group claims that the new rules governing excessive student debt will result in massive disincentives on private sector schools that currently seek to educate low-income, minority, and other traditionally underserved student populations. What are your thoughts on the validity of this claim? How can student loan debt best be managed ®ulated given the soaring tuition costs & increased demand for student loans?
